DSM installs and commissions a new plant.

To keep up with growing demand for DSM products, allow us to expand our range and enable us to cut costs dramatically we have purchased and installed an automated plant.


During market researcher we carried out of products and cost of construction in SA, we found the M150 series (140mm block) to be one of the most cost effective mediums of construction widely used in most parts of the world. Construction is single leaf, structurally sound, an additional benefit of using DSM Blocks and a huge saving is that all our products are sealed during manufacture and are exceptionally pleasing to the eye. There is thus no need for costly plastering and on-going painting costs.  This makes DSM 150 series a high quality, visually pleasing and cost effective means of construction materials available to the South African market. (Short term and long term)


With our new plant we are able to offer this high quality product to the market, at an exceptionally competitive construction cost of any quality masonry or clay products available to the industry.

The award was received for its Sunninghill-based Waterfall Hills Mature Lifestyle Estate, which was launched in 2010. The Globals Award is held annually to recognize excellence in over-50s residential housing.

(2010) DSM KEEPS UP WITH THE LATEST IN MASONRY TECHNOLOGY. DSM INCORPORATE THE LATEST INNOVATIVE PRE-SEALING TECHNOLOGY.

Incorporate Latest Pr-Sealing Technology

We at DSM incorporate the latest innovative per-sealing technology to our products. Manufacturing with per-sealing silicone water repellent admixtures, these admixtures significantly reduce water absorption and hence reduce the possibility of efflorescence, mould or mildew staining. The scientific breakthrough of per-sealing technology means that the silicone water repellent admixture incorporated during manufacture of the concrete product stays as an integral part of the concrete for its entire life. Appearances close to natural stone is produced.

2) Resistance to long-term efflorescence with surfaces remaining pristine.

3) Resistance to biological growth due to the masonry remaining dry.

4) Elimination of rising damp at the base of concrete block walls.

5) The building structure remains dry and is environmentally friendly as evaporation from damp external walls uses energy.

6) Eliminates erosion damage due to the effects of salt from sea spray or salt-chlorinated pools.

7) Surfaces do not require painting or maintenance, reducing the lifetime costs of maintenance on the building.

Our technology and manufacturing process is unique to Africa, and with our raw materials and state of the art Colour blending equipment, we have achieved an authentic looking sand stone product unsurpassed by any of our competitors.
